I can’t believe October is already here.  This is my favorite time of year. All of a sudden, you can feel that coolness in the mornings. The leaves are spectacular right now! Football season is in full steam. Hunting season is upon us! It really
doesn’t get much better than this.

One of the great things about the Fall months are all the fun events that bring our community together. These are great for gathering family and friends and enjoying what our amazing city has to offer. A couple of weeks ago we held our Fall Harvest Festival. It’s a partnership
between Orem Community Hospital and the City of Orem. I was glad to see it come back after a three-year break during the pandemic.
Children and adults participated in free health screenings as well as fun games and activities, live music, and dancing. And for this year’s event, over 2500 pumpkins were given away!

Another great event that started last month and goes through November 6th is the Fall Fair at the Wilkerson Farm. They have a corn maze, farm animals, hay rides, and lots fun attractions. Ride the carousel or go for a spin in the tea cup. If you want more of a thrill, try the high-flying swings or the Pirate’s Revenge Boat Ride. You can also select your own pumpkin to purchase at the farm entrance. Choose from all kinds of colors and sizes. Many families have made a tradition of visiting the farm every fall.

Orem’s Truck-or-Treat is coming up on October 22 at University Place. This event brings Halloween fun – together with seeing city vehicles up close. This year, there will be goodie bags for the kids instead of having them pick up candy at each vehicle. I know that kids of all ages love seeing fire trucks, street sweepers, police cars, bucket trucks, and a lot more. We look forward to seeing you and, your amazing Halloween costumes!

In the next week, I encourage everyone to get out and take a drive up the Canyon. The leaves are gorgeous but won’t last much longer. Fall is a great time to share in some new adventures and create some memories. Enjoy this time with your neighbors – and even make some new friends along the way.

See you next month!
