About Community development
The Community Development Department guides Orem’s growth in a planned and coordinated manner.
The Development review committee
Coordinated within the department and consists of key personnel from Community Development and other City departments to ensure compliance with all applicable City codes.
Building Codes
The department is also responsible for enforcing adopted building codes in order to protect life and property of those who work, live, and visit the City.
Reviews
The department reviews and approves residential and commercial plans for structural integrity and code compliance, issue permits, and perform progress inspections for all new construction
