Spring is officially here. Spring is an amazing season because it brings new life, more sunlight, and the fresh promise of new beginnings. Everything feels possible in the Spring. It’s the perfect moment for us to follow nature’s example to refresh our surroundings, making way for new possibilities.
In our city operations, Spring breathes new life into everything we do. This is the season when our dedicated teams renew, refresh and prepare our parks, pools, playgrounds, streets, and more for the bustling months ahead. I love seeing all of the city facilities come back to life and residents enjoying all that Orem has to offer.
To support your personal spring cleaning efforts, we’re excited to once again host the annual Orem Spring Clean-Up. This four-week program offers you free access to dumpsters at conveniently located city parks, making it easier than ever to declutter and rejuvenate your property. This is one of our most popular city initiatives as residents rally together to clean up their neighborhoods. Last year, this program removed over 20,000 cubic yards of trash from the city. That’s over 500 of the massive rollaway dumpsters.
Keep an eye out for our city newsletter landing in your mailboxes soon. It is filled with all the details about this program, plus the highly anticipated free trash pass. This pass allows you to take a truckload of unwanted stuff to the dump completely free. It’s just another way to help in this community-wide spruce-up.
Our collective efforts in beautifying and enhancing our properties have a deeper purpose than just community charm or curb appeal. Taking care of our homes and yards creates a ripple effect through our community that fosters pride, connectivity, safety, and well-being. Orem’s 105th birthday is coming up next month and to celebrate we’re organizing a day of service for us all to work together to beautify Orem. We hope you’ll join us at Nielsen’s Grove Park on May 4th. This birthday event is just the beginning of a new initiative to tap into the power of this community to renew and improve our neighborhoods. More details will be coming soon, so stay tuned.
