SeptemberOrem has had its fair share of celebrity visitors over the years, but there has never been a bigger star to shine their light on Orem than Li’l Sebastian. They may call him Li’l Sebastian but the impact he has had on all of us is anything but Li’l. He may not be a permanent resident of Orem, but he lives in our hearts full-time.
Li’l Sebastian has spent his years changing the world. He was a goodwill ambassador for Utah Veterans and went to Kuwait to entertain the troops. A champion climber, he was a member of the Mt. Timpanogos Ski Patrol and Emergency Rescue Team, serving as its captain from 1996-98. He participated in the celebrations for Queen Elizabeth’s Golden Jubilee, even marching in front of Buckingham Palace. And who can forget when he received his honorary degree from Notre Dame University? That’s Dr. Li’l Sebastian to you!
In recognition of his many achievements and contributions to not only Orem, but all humankind, I Richard F. Brunst, Jr., Mayor of Orem, present this Key to the City to Li’l Sebastian and declare October 1, 2018 Li’l Sebastian Day in the City of Orem.
