ORDINANCE NO. 0-2023-0009
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PORTIONS OF ARTICLE 2-20
AND SECTION 12-5-12 OF THE OREM CITY CODE TO
REFLECT CHANGES TO THE NAME OF OREM'S ANNUAL
CELEBRATION “OREMFEST”
WHEREAS the City has recently changed the name of its annual summer celebration
from Summerfest to "Oremfest"; and
WHEREAS the City Council desires to amend all references to Summerfest in the City
Code to read "Oremfest; and
WHEREAS the City Council desires to amend certain sections in Article 2-20 and
Section 12-5-12 of the Orem City Code to replace the word Summerfest with Oremfest; and
WHEREAS the City Council finds the proposed amendments to be in the best interest of
the City; and
WHEREAS the matter having been submitted and the City Council having fully
considered the request as it relates to the health, safety, and general welfare of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF OREM, as follows:
1. The City Council hereby amends certain sections of Article 2-20 and Section 12-5-12
of the Orem City Code to substitute the word "Oremfest" in place of the word
"Summerfest" as shown in Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto and incorporated
herein by reference.
2. If any part of these ordinance amendments shall be declared invalid, such decision
shall not affect the validity of the remainder of this ordinance.
3. All other ordinances, policies, and resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
4. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage and publication in a
newspaper of general circulation in the City of Orem.
