Dispatch Stats September 2019

Written by Tricia Breinholt on October 1, 2019. Posted in Police

There was a 7.23% increase in monthly call over September 2018, which is incredible because dispatch is working in such a staffing crisis. We are doing more with less and I couldn’t be more proud of these dispatchers. They are working countless hours of overtime simply because they see the need and care about our City’s citizens and first responders – these are the kind of people any city would be proud to have working for and representing them when people call for help on their worst days.

September 2019

911 Calls – 2,919

Admin Calls – 11,067

Total Calls – 13,986 (compared to September 2018 of 13,043)

  • The Centennial team carried out the final Centennial event of the year, the Centennial employee party. The event had approximately 400 employees and their families in attendance, who enjoyed a JDoggs dinner with catered sides from BYU Catering, swimming in the SCERA pool, and a movie in the SCERA Shell.
  • Several members of the Centennial team helped the HCTO organize the use of CARE funds to provide a special Centennial celebratory event. Matinee tickets were made available to low income community members to attend a special theater showing at $2 a ticket. All three matinee showings were sold out and many families were able to attend the HCTO matinee showing of Charley’s Aunt.
  • Met with five businesses seeking to either locate to Orem or expand and stay in Orem. Provided the businesses with property recommendations and real estate agent connections.
  • Facilitated a tour of Canyon Park Tech Center for the crypto compliance taxation company, ProfitStance, who is looking for Class A office space for lease in the Provo / Orem metro area.
  • Met with Awardco, fastest growing Utah small business according to Inc. 5000. Awardco asked for suggestions for opportunities for their employees to serve and give back to the Orem community. Provided Awardco with a follow up email of options including donating to the fitness center and volunteering at the All-Together Playground yearly clean up.

July 2019

Written by Orem Senior Friendship Center on August 13, 2019. Posted in Seniors

We started the month with a great show from Mr. Tim… a fabulous performer that sounds so much like Frank Sinatra it’s scary!  Check out this video of one of the songs he sang for us.

The fitness center classes began mid-month and we have welcomed them with open arms and doors.  There have been a few hiccups that we have been able to smooth out and we look forward to getting to know more friends!
