2020 Sewer Pipe Liners Project
RECEIPT OF BIDS: Separate sealed BIDS or Electronic Submittal using Sciquest for the construction of 2020 Sewer Pipe Liners Project will be received by Sam Kelly, City Engineer at the City of Orem, Engineering Division, 56 North State, Orem, UT 84057, or opened electronically on Sciquest until October 27, 2020 at 10 am and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. Bid documents will be available online October 13, 2020. By submitting a BID it is acknowledged that the Agreement may be extended for an additional year based on performance. The preferred method for submitting a bid is by using Sciquest at purchasing.utah.gov (Select the search bar > select Current Bids > enter “Orem” > search). Bids submitted after this deadline will be rejected. Upon review, the business or individual best meeting the needs of the City will be contacted for further action.
There is a mandatory pre-bid meeting October 20, 2020 at 10am. Due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19 the pre-bid meeting will be a teleconference. The meeting will be recorded for proof of attendance, any contractors that wish to attend will need to send an email to email@example.com to receive an invitation. Once the invitation is received, you will need to create a username and password, and login to be connected to the meeting. On the day of the teleconference, ensure that you use Google Chrome as the browser as well as have access to a computer/laptop with a microphone.
BIDDING QUESTIONS – Use Sciquest to submit questions and download documents relating to bid items, specifications, and other technical questions. The project engineer is Zack Fisher (801) 229-7331 for additional questions.
OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be obtained October 13, 2020 on Sciquest under 2020 Sewer Pipe Liners Project or at the City of Orem, Engineering Division, Development Services Offices, 56 North State Street, Orem, UT 84057. There is no fee from the City to obtain the documents on Sciquest. There will be a $20 non-refundable fee for a copy of the plans and specifications. (An additional $5.00 service charge will be assessed if the plans and specifications are to be mailed).
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The WORK will consist of the installation of approximately 840 LF of 6” sanitary sewer liner, 7,825 LF of 8” sanitary sewer line, 2,425 LF of 10” sanitary sewer liner, 2,240 LF of 12” sanitary sewer liner, 6,340 LF of 15” sanitary sewer liner, 1,305 LF of 18” sanitary sewer liner, 3,075 of 21” sanitary sewer liner, 740 LF of 24” sanitary sewer liner, and 333 sewer lateral reconnections. The engineer’s estimate is approximately $1.4 million to $1.6 million. The contractor will be required to coordinate WORK with Orem City and another contractor who will be lining manholes in some areas. The Agreement for the WORK may be extended by the parties and include additional projects or services to be completed within the next two years based on the unit prices provided in the BID schedule.
SITE OF WORK: The site of the WORK is located at 1200 North (1134 West to 550 West), 35 East (800 North to 900 North), 900 North (350 East to 400 East), 840 North (800 East to 840 East), 600 East (700 North to 800 North), 1200 West (640 North to 780 North), 700 North (232 East to 300 East), Orchard Drive (600 North to 700 North), Nue Vue Circle (270 East to Orchard Drive), 675 North (1060 West to 800 West), 800 West (675 North to 700 North), 600 North (400 East to 600 East), 700 East (500 North to 580 North), 640 West (500 North to 550 North), 470 North (1120 East to 1170 East), 1120 East (470 North to 435 North), 400 South (900 West to 800 West), 720 South (State Street to 400 East), 850 South (190 West to 140 West), 800 East (950 South to 550 South), 725 West (800 South to 925 South), 925 South (725 West to 600 West), UVU Parking Lot (600 West to 400 West), Hidden Hollow Drive (1600 South to Main Street), 1450 South (Main Street to 100 West), 1600 South (165 West to Main Street), and 2000 South (370 West to Main Street). The parties may agree to expand the WORK to additional work sites for work to be completed within the next two years.
