Mountainland Association of Governments Aging and Family Services Department.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is sponsored by Mountainland Association of Governments and is funded by the Corporation for National & Community Service (CNCS). The RSVP Program maintains a base of more than 1,000 volunteers, placing them in approximately 100 volunteer stations, including schools, senior centers, nursing facilities, hospitals, county sites, and nonprofit agencies.

The Volunteer Program, as part of the Aging & Family Services Department utilizes volunteers to assist us in providing services and programs such as meals-on-wheels, transportation, monitoring of assisted living and nursing homes, health insurance counseling, and educational events. Neighborhood Involvement

The City's "Neighborhoods In Action" is always on the look out for Orem residents who want to make a difference in their corner of the world by becoming a Community or Neighborhood Leader or Neighborhood Committee Member. Neighborhoods In Action was created to help residents constructively work with City government on issues of concern to them and their neighbors. Weed Out Warrior Do you have an interest in flowers and gardening? The City of Orem Parks department is assembling a team of volunteers known as Weed Out Warriors to adopt flower beds at various locations in Orem. There are currently seven beds up for adoption. The adoption period begins every Spring and ends every Fall. All plant material will be provided. This would be a great summer project for a family or group of friends. Many Weed Out Warriors check on their flower beds while walking their dogs or while taking a leisurely stroll through the park. You can work at your own pace and choose a schedule that best suits you. Whether you choose to work individually or in a group setting, your efforts will contribute to the beautification of your city. As a Weed Out Warrior you will receive a short training session on the proper care of your flower bed. You will also receive a T-shirt with the Weed Out Warrior logo, trash bags, and a pair of gloves. For more information please contact Laura at 229-7560 or email her at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
