The Development Services Department guides Orem’s growth in a planned and coordinated manner.
The Development Review Committee (DRC) is coordinated within the department and consists of key personnel from Development Services and other City departments to ensure compliance with all applicable City codes.
The department is also responsible for enforcing adopted building codes and standards in order to protect life and property of those who work, live, and visit the city. They review and approve residential and commercial plans for structural integrity and code compliance, issue permits, and perform progress inspections for all new construction.
